New year new you, we have all been victims of this unspecific high expectation of ourselves. I see memes each year that make fun of the inability of Americans to truly stick to their goals and instead take the easy way out by phrasing their goal with the latest fad.
Do not get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being motivated and determined to make the new year and improved version of yourself. However, it is hard to say what the new us looks like it we haven’t specified what we wanted out of life this new year.
Although vision boards have gained popularity in the last few years, we seem to only use it to have something to show social media. Instead we should be using a vision board (or journal) to depict to ourselves what are expectations are of ourselves for the new year.
New Year, New You…Seriously This Time
This year is going to be different, because you are reading this post! This time you are going to ensure that you set realistic and specific goals, post your goals where you can see them each day and ensure that it encompasses many different part of your life.
For example, most individuals make a goal of losing weight but do not specify the amount of weight to lose, why it is important or how they will do it. Since, they do not have the specifics, many people fail before the year gets officially started.

My biggest suggestion for the upcoming year is to create a new you is to make small adjustments to each part of your life and be specific! For example:
Mental health-> “I want to stop isolating”
“I will go out socially at least 1 time a month each month to make sure i do not isolate and to improve my mood (fight my depression)”.
I hope that the upcoming year is all that you hope it will be and much more. Remember to be specific and post these goals where you can see them.
